Aug 31 - Comic Book Day

It has been a few days since my last post, sorry.  Today I have posted things back to Aug 15th (incase you want to read everyone of my posts).

I really like Wednesday, as today is new comic book day.  Today I got two comics that I am can't wait to read.  Flashpoint is the last issue in a five month story and Justice League is starting a brand new story.  So one story ends and another begins.

Aug 30 - Fruit is coming on

Our apple trees and our grapes are fully loaded this year.  When I look at the apple tree, I am not sure how it is still standing because it has so much fruit on it.  Our grapes are the same.

Aug 29 - Micah is growing up - we can tell because she stinks!

Micah is growing up.  Today her new 5th grade teacher told his class that he wants them all to start putting on deodorant.  They are going to have PE and he does not want his class to stink.

This made Micah's day.  She was sooooooooo excited to get some deodorant and she can't wait to put it on.  I wish my other two teenagers felt the same way Micah does.

Aug 28 - Sunday night Dinner?

Ok, this is a little strange.  I was heading to bed on Sunday and saw the kitchen table set up for Monday morning breakfast.  It is the first day of school tomorrow and I guess everyone is expecting to run a little behind schedule tomorrow, as breakfast is already set up.

Aug 27 - Rexburg Rapids

Today we had our monthly FHE with the Bates family at Rexbury Rapids.  We wish everyone could have come, but we understand that everyone's life is very busy.

Aug 26 - Movie!

Today we went to see Kung Fu Panda 2 (at least Tyler, Mariah and I did).  We had a great time and it is a fun movie.  Wendy and Micah had already seen it so they went to do something else.

Aug 25 - Pack Meeting

Tonight was pack meeting.  Tyler earned his Den Chief award.  He has been helping the Webelos for over 1 year and because of his hard work he earned his "cords".  He can wear these on his uniform at all times (you can't wear cords full time until you earn them).  Tyler you are doing a great job!

Aug 24 - 144,000 and counting & Back to School Night for Micah

Well my truck hit the 144,000 mile mark today.  Maybe one day I will have a truck that is not as old as Mariah.  It is a good truck, but some days it would be nice to have a radio that does not have a tape player in it.

Micah also had her back to school night.  She is very excited about her teacher and her class this year.  4th Grade was hard for her, so I hope that 5th is easier.

Aug 23 - Soft Water

We now have soft water in our house.  We had our old one put in when we moved from Lehi, but it never did work right.  We having been living with hard water for too long.

As I am writing this post on Aug 31, I can say that soft water does make a difference.  We have had it for one week and I can already tell the difference.

We also got a new faucet put in our kitchen sink.  This was Wendy's birthday present.  I also think she spent the money she got from her birthday on our soft water system.

Aug 22 - Sunrise

I can tell the days are getting shorter, as I am now starting to beat the sun up.  Took this picture as I was leaving for work

Aug 21 - Court of Honor

Today we had a Court of Honor for Troop 616.  Tyler did not earn anything this time, but he went to support the troop.

Aug 20 - Micah at the Fashion Show

A couple of day's ago (when we went to Sizzler) we also went to the mall.  While at the mall Micah was asked if she wanted to be in a "Back to School" fashion show that Dillards was putting on.  She said yes, so today we attended her first (but I bet not her last) fashion show.

I think she had a good time.  She was a natural as she walked up and down the runway.

Aug 19, 2011 - Where Wendy?

Wendy is somewhere in this picture.  Our garden has gone crazy this year.

Aug 18, 2011 - Dinner at Sizzler

Tonight Micah, Wendy and I went to Sizzler for dinner.  Both Tyler and Mariah had other important things to do ..... can't remember what it was, but it was important.  I must be getting old.  I think Tyler had scouts (with the Webelos) and Mariah was working, but I am not 100% sure about that.

Aug 17, 2011 - Golf Tournament for Rett Syndrome

Today Tyler and I played in a golf tournament for Rett Syndrome.  We did not play well, but we had a good time.  We golfed with Jason Martin and Neil Price, two friends from the ward.

Aug 16 - Temple Work?

I don't know if you have seen the grounds at the Idaho Falls temple the past few months.  They are redoing all of the landscaping.  They have taken out all the grass, some trees, some sidewalks, etc.  It has been a mess for quite a while.

They are starting to put it back together and it should look very nice when it is all done.  Here are some before pictures.  We will need to wait for the "after" pictures.

Aug 15 - Monday Dinner

Today we went out to dinner to celebrate Wendy's birthday.  We had Mexican food, which Wendy and I like.  I am not sure about Tyler.  I think everyone else thinks it is ok.

Aug 14 - Sunday Dinner

I don't get to see this very often.  The family making Sunday dinner.  I think they do it every Sunday, I am just usually not home to see it.  Toooooooooo many meetings.

Aug 12 - 13 Yellowstone and Grand Teton Park Trip

For Wendy's birthday we went up to Yellowstone Park and cam down through Grand Teton Park, spent the night in the cabin in Victor, and then went back to Jackson Hole on Saturday.  We had a great time.
