For Wendy's birthday we went up to Yellowstone Park and cam down through Grand Teton Park, spent the night in the cabin in Victor, and then went back to Jackson Hole on Saturday. We had a great time.
Daily photo blog of the Scott Welch family. We started this in July 2010 and made it one year. We will try and keep it going ....... wish us luck and leave a comment on what you like. Forgive us if we skip a day or two.

Aug 11 - Things that make you go Hmmmmmm
Today was also a busy day. Mariah volunteered her time at the Idaho Falls Snake River Jam. She worked in the booth that made tambourines out of paper plates.
While I was walking around the area, I noticed this Idaho Falls City sign posted on a telephone pole. Not sure if I should turn in the city for breaking the law. Maybe this is one of those things that parents say "Do as I say, not as I do" (also notice all the nails in the pole from previous signs).
Then we spent the evening at a neighbors house at a party. The party was hosted by Mariah's bosses and was a work party for their staff. They also had a few neighbors over. It was a good time.

Aug 10 - Bonus Post - Golf Awards
Tyler and Micah got their end of year golf awards and they each earned a trophy for their efforts.
It was a very funny night.
Tyler got 2nd place in the IGA class, but the problem is that Tyler is not in the IGA program. When he turned in his score card they asked him if he was in this program and he told them yes (thinking it was the junior league). It turns out the IGA is for advanced boys so they put him in the wrong class. We had a good laugh over this. Also notice that they misspelled his name.
Then it was Micah's turn. It turns out she ended up in 11th place in the boys division. Not sure how she ended up in this division (see below pictures). She did finish 5th in her age group for girls. We also had a good laugh over this one. I told her she needs to get used to the fact that she has a name that can be taken for a girl or a boy.
Aug 9 - Tyler Before Braces
We are getting a new metal mouth in the family tomorrow. Tyler is getting braces on his top teeth (the bottom ones will follow in a few months).
This is Tyler before braces.

Aug 8 - Tautphaus Park Zoo
Tonight for FHE we went to our local zoo. I love going on Monday as the zoo is open until 8:00 and that is when the animals wake up and start moving around. Another great thing about the zoo is that you can walk through the whole thing in 1 hour. We always have a fun time when we go to the zoo.
Aug 7 - De Bug!
When I was in high school I had a VW bug with the Colorado license plate of DEBUG.
I found this same plant on a VW Bug in Idaho, so I grabbed this picture today. This car visites a neighbor's house every once in a while.
It is a small world.

Aug 5 - 6 Youth Conference in Island Park
This year we had our youth conference up in Island Park. We did a lot of activities, most of which I did not have my camera with me.
We started off doing a service project at Upper Mesa Falls. We cleared part of a road from trees and bushes that have grown into the path. The path needs to be clear so an ambulance can get to lower Mesa Falls. It is about 1 - 1 1/2 mile road. We cleared almost 1 mile of it.
We then went to a member's cabin to do a service project for our local school district. We put several Kindergarten books together. We then played games and watched the movie "The Ultimate Gift".
The next day we listened to a sister tell her story of overcoming adversity. She had fallen while rock climbing and broke both of her legs.
We then floated down the river from Big Springs to Mac's Inn. We saw Derek on the river (he was with his church group).
Overall I had a great time, and I wish I had more pictures to share .....

Aug 1 - 4 Normal Days at Home
Below are some pictures of normal day items for Aug 1 - 4.
Aug 1 - Pizza Night
We spent the evening in the garden working and had to have a quick dinner, so I got a couple of pizzas. Not the most exciting picture, but for some reason we all like pizza
Aug 2 - Sunset in Idaho
Below is a picture that I snapped as I got home from spending time with the youth. We normally have Bishopric meeting, but we did not have it tonight. Got home a little early and enjoyed the sunset
Aug 3 - See how tall our corn is?
Below is a picture of our corn. It really took off while we visited family in Denver. Can you find Micah?
Aug 4 - Our pumpkin leaves are very big.
Below is one of our pumpkin leaves. We planed 5 plants this year and they are very big. Not seeing pumpkins yet, but as you can tell, the leaves are HUGE. It would take 4 1/2 of my hands to cover this one leaf (maybe more).
